Aquapocalypse is almost over!

So says the MWRA updates page (yes, refresh it).

Community Update

The 120” pipe connection has been repaired, pressurized and put back into service. Fully treated water has been distributed to the MWRA system since about 6 PM on Sunday and is expected to continue. Water pressure in MWRA service area is in typical ranges.

Please remember that a Boil Water Order is in effect for the following communities until otherwise notified and water use should be restricted to essential use only.

Those 24 packs of Poland Springs were seen this morning (from overnight deliveries to stores) but were still awfully small piles for all 2 million folks affected. Thank goodness for Cambridge; you can still drive there today to buy your coffee; their drinking water was always clean.

I have found that biking, walking, and taking the T also work for getting to Cambridge.

I think TV is having the real Aquapolypse, where 15 people have been killed due to flooding.

I read TV to mean Tennessee Valley.

Our water is now a fashionable tinge of green and each boil up is tasting nastier and nastier. I can only hope to stop drinking Spot Pond sometime in the very near future.

Based on location and proximity, I assume we're drinking Chestnut Hill Reservoir, and it's still relatively tasty.

... to our water yesterday (in Roslindale) -- but it seemed to taste okay after boiling. For water coming out of the tap this morning, almost all of the green tinge seemed to be gone.

We tried to get ahead of the curve on boiling, because I figured the sludge from the bottom of the spare reservoirs would soon work its way into the system. I have about 15 clean gallons, should last my family about a week.

After reading your comments here and on Facebook, I decided to take my clothes to North Cambridge Laundromat instead of using the washers in my Somerville apartment building.

The MWRA hasn't made any statements about whether or not it's a good idea to do laundry with the current semi-treated water.
