Monteverdi Madrigals (Mostly)
The program features selections from all nine books of madrigals by Monteverdi, with accompaniment. We will also present the winner of our 13th Annual International Composition Competition, One Day When It's Winter, by Elizabeth Kennedy Bayer. We congratulate Ms. Bayer, the winner, from over 300 submissions and 30 countries, of this year's Cambridge Chamber Singers International Composition Competition.

May 15 and 16, 2010
Claudio Monteverdi wrote nine books of madrigals, from when he was 20 years old to his death in 1643 at the age of 76. These incredible works demonstrate his extraordinary musical genius, his expressive range, and his sheer creativity. They showcase the musical evolution from the Renaissance to Baroque, in the hands of this musical giant.
