Howie Carr finally gets his wish: He's off WRKO - for a week, anyway

The loudmouth finally mouthed off once too often to his bosses at the station he's forced to toil at for only $1 million a year (contracts are so distasteful) and the station suspended him for a week, the Globe reports.

I have listened to Howie Carr for years. I don't think he's too informative. But he sure is entertaining. I was wondering when station management was going to punish him. I can't understand how he could get away with some of the stuff he had to say about the ownership of WRKO. Anywhere else, criticism like that would get one fired. To me he sounds like a spoiled brat. Talk about getting full of yourself.

Love Howie. Information entertainment. Lots of people hate where they work, he just talks openly about it. Why would the station want to force the contract with an employee that openly wants not to work there? He was not asking to be paid for the contract.....He just wanted to move on. That was the idea I got, correct me if I am wrong. Good for anyone that is up front with what they believe! He will likely go to Florida and enjoy the week off and never miss the paycheck! I hope he pays Sandy though!

Yes, it's sometimes mouth-breathingly stupid, but it's entertaining in a schoolyard kind of way.

Funny thing is that the geniuses that run WRKO are "punishing" HC by removing the single show that people listen to, and that actually sells advertising. Thereby proving Carr's point--that the suits that run (or ruin) WRKO are breathtakingly stupid.

And that's another problem people have with Howie Carr--he's way too often right. On Deval, on Finneran, on DiMasi, and on WRKO management.
