Lightning sets Ashmont three decker ablaze

The Boston Fire Department reports a lightning strike shortly after 6 p.m. started a fire that quickly engulfed the three-family house at 9 Alban St. in flames.

A lightning bolt hit the building's third-floor balcony spread to the two other balconies and went to three alartms. None of the ten residents were injured, the department says, estimating damage at $250,000. One firefighter went to the hospital after suffering chest pains.

That's really scary! Thank heavens nobody got killed or injured in that fire. Here's hoping that the firefighter who went to the hospital with chest pains is okay and recovering.
