I suspect that his constituents are less than thrilled, as they've continued to reelect him through thick and thin-- bottom line is without changing his constituency as has been done, he is reelected. So what has changed? Nothing. They wiggled the districts and you will take some consolation in that, but come November we will likely have two democratic US Senators, one of whom is every bit the liberal, progressive idealist and agenda-setter of Barney Frank. What is more, what she concedes in political clout as a newcomer she more than makes up for a brand that isn't as tainted nationwide as Frank's.

I love Mr. Frank, and appreciate his service, his intellect, and his wit, but if this is coupled with a Elizabeth Warren win (as seems increasingly likely) this is a net-gain for liberals in this Commonwealth.

Correction: We will have one Democratic Senator, the other will be a Republican or a full blown Communist. I don't expect Kerry to be around much longer and who knows what will replace him.

Do you live in?

I don't see any communists running for Senator - not even the socialist candidates get much airplay with the media.

Unless you are trying to superimpose Faux News talking pointz on Warren ... oh, how clever!

Faux news? I get all my news from UHub, not the Journolist.

Just because she puts a D inside the parens doesn't mean she's not deserving of an S. Or perhaps she deserves an A for anarchist - after all she apparently did a lot of the seminal work for the Occupistas. Great video of Occupista LA peeps burning 50's and hundreds this morning. Keep that up and you'll be a part of the 1% for sure - the bottom 1%. Looks like her life's work went up in smoke with a Ben Franklin this a.m.

Perhaps you should look at her website for accurate information. Karl Rove is NOT your friend. Even the Onion, Colbert, and Stewart at do better with the truth when compared to the comically ridiculous scare videos. If Brown is so great, why doesn't he run on his accomplishments?

Rolling them around like that all day?

I went to the website - it doesn't say anything other than we want good schools, workers rights, rainbows and sunny days.

I've seen her talk and I've seen her work - she's more taxes, more spending more government control. The occupiers that she wrote the playbook for are all upset about BofA's fees - well then thank her - she raised the cost of doing business as a bank. Banks are in the biz of making money and they are going to make it somewhere - or lay people off which isn't good for anyone either -that's their job whether you like it or not - if you don't like it and think you can do such a wonderful job, get some backers and start your own bank.

Bottom line - I might actually take a serious look at her against Kerry - but in 2012 it's extremely likely the R's are taking the senate. We need an R in there to get anything done for us. You might not like it, you might have to bite your lip and vote R like I did when I voted for Kerry in 2004 - but you can vote your ideals and watch Mass get the shaft in federal funding or you can vote pragmatically whether you like him or not and vote for Brown - let's be serious - freshmen senators get little or nothing done - especially in their first couple of years - you can even ask our "present" voting president how that works.

Not really an argument I would expect from a conservative. He supports wasteful defense spending on duplicate weapons systems and so forth, so we should bite the bullet and vote for Brown?

We do a lot of useful military research here in Mass that needs federal money,we also need all kinds of legitimate infrastructure money, extra medicaid for our liberal health care plan, basic research and a host of other things. Not all federal money is pork - and the F-35 engine which is what I'm guessing you are referring to may or may not be pork re. duplicate spending (I understand it's actually an argument over the need for having two suppliers - ask anyone trying to buy a hard drive if they wish they had a second supplier not in Thailand or the auto dealers if they needed a second parts supplier for a lot of what was made in Northern Japan) -the jury's out but I may fall on your side on that one, but it's a fair debate.

I was a bit young at the time - but it's my understanding that Nixon took it out of Mass' hide when they voted against him in '72 (and good for Mass), but if there is a tide of R's that keeps the house, takes the senate and possibly occupies the white house (one sweep I wouldn't want to see) - and we send 9,10,11 D's down to Washington we are going to get an upturned finger displayed in our direction and it's not going to be a thumb.

... of the blind the one-eyed man is king.
... of the morbidly obese, the chubbies look slender.
... of the raving, racist tea-baggers, the mainstream conservative looks moderate.

only one of those lines gets sung by Tom Waits, but I think they all work.

Regardless of whether you think he's the gay anti-christ or the best congressman ever, clearly he was entertaining. And when you boil it all down, that's sadly the best we can expect from our politicians -- bring home whatever bacon you can and at least provide some good youtube fodder. You just won't see Jim McGovern comparing loonies to dining room furniture.

It might be a while before we have another Congressman with a male, homosexual prostitution business running out of his home, and an illicit drug cultivation operation! When he said today that he made his decision last week while in Maine with "Jim", I couldn't help but wonder if that was the clown growing marijuana under Barney's nose. Good, good Congressman.

That's right! He should find his homo trysts in airport mensrooms, like all the rest of the respectable faggots in Congress!

but still, Frank was kind of an embarassment to Massachusetts. At the risk of being overly presumptuous, I have to wonder how well it served the interests of gay people to have the first openly gay Congressman implicated in a prostitution scandal and almost censured as a result? I think I would have respected Frank more if he had openly and vigorously advocated for legalization of prostitution and marijuana. Also, I'm not sure Frank did the average person much good in his role as financial watchdog. He seemed as captured by the industry as any good Republican. All in all, IMO, kind of an overrated character- maybe a constituent can convince me otherwise. What was so great about him?

Not only did he diddle underage pages, he got reelected.

Notice that Barney Frank was 1) never had a sham marriage for political gain and 2)preferred adults.
