Beer-serving pizza place opens in Lower Allston; neighborhood fails to collapse into black hole

We hear Stone Hearth Pizza opened this week in Barry's Corner and despite predictions from the Allston Civic Association, has failed to turn the area into a steaming pile of rubble, and that even people who are not fans of Duff Beer have eaten there.

I just drove through lower Allston, and let me assure you that it is indeed a steaming pile of rubble.

Not any more so than it was yesterday, or a week ago!

This new pizza joint is detracting from the historic character and ambiance emanating from the nearby Dunkin' Donuts and 7-11 stores. The new owners should have instead imitated the style of the surrounding architecture -- flattening the property and paving it all over with asphalt.
