That's an electrical fire above the platform at the Beverly commuter-rail station around 6:40 this morning, as photographed by Joe Pitha, who alerted the T via a tweet reading, simply, "This can't be good."

That sure looks like a power company line, not an MBTA line. Probably better to call the Beverly Fire Department, than to Tweet the MBTA GM.
Have we really reached the point where people think: "Wow! Something's on fire! I guess I should report it via Twitter!" I mean, I appreciate someone reporting it, but that's not the best way...
It reminds me of this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mark-blankenship/per...
...yet people use Twitter as 911 and ask for psychiatric help all the time. I'm referring to all of the people who are deluded into thinking that Justin Bieber is capable of conscious thought, let alone performing music.
He didn't say he didn't; maybe he called 911 first, then tweeted @mbtagm.
I stand corrected!
Well, doesn't it depends if he did call 911 or not?
so I also really doubt that this power line belongs to the T. Right after 911 I'd call the local electric utility (either NStar or National Grid, not sure which one serves Beverly).
