Citizen complaint of the day: Enough slacking off in Blackstone Square

The police tape from the murder scene must be all gone, because a concerned citizen only found one thing to complain about in the square - old Christmas wreathes:

I appreciate the wreaths in Blackstone Square for Christmas, but it's now 25 Feb and they are still up. Please remove. Look forward to fresh ones next Christmas.

We get it adam - some people complain about things the rest of us might find a little silly (although a heads-up to take down out-of-season city decorations seems a reasonable ping).

Imo, the increasing number of articles about Citizens Connect msgs have gone from funny, to eye-rolling, to cynic enabling column filler.

Hey, this is a blog, and it aggregates things that are out there (except when Adam goes to meetings and reports on them.) I don't want to go to Citizens Connect every day to see what is out there, any more than I want to remember to go to the Huntington News every week to read the crime log, but Adam does, chooses the best of the best, and reports back, and that suits me fine.

If you don't want to read it, you don't have to.

And besides, he is contrasting this report that makes the area look quiet, with the fact there was a murder there a few days ago.

It was a citizen connect msg - like thousands of others. "Best of the best"? Shrug...In this case, you and I disagree.

Of course I appreciate the great work Adam is doing here. I understand that not all UHub stories are going to be (or should be) earth-shatteringly important. Finding light hearted stuff is probably sanity-saving for the good Mr. Gaffin. Ditto for the many photo features, which I think are true regional treasures.

It's clear that Adam welcomes feedback, even when he doesn't agree with it. I gave him some - I think the "out-of-context-goofy-CCs" schtick has been funny once in a while, but nearly every day = jumping the shark a bit.

Just one data point, he's free to do with it as he wishes.

p.s. It's great to hear that you're also a big fan of UHub, Waquiot - you should consider registering!

I mostly appreciate that the park (as well as its inexplicably creepier counterpart across Washington) has been largely clear of the regular crowd of midday partiers. I hope things improve around there because there are so many little kids who live around there who deserve safe, clean parks, especially as the weather starts to get better and when school gets out for the summer.

with South End parents. You would seriously bring your kids into a park where someone was just murdered and where 50% of the people are alcoholic vagrants or drug addicts and the other 50% are unaware, clueless South End yuppies whose dogs have soiled every square inch of grass? That park is a minefield of used needles and dog poo. Also, gun shots are not an unusual occurrence on the intersection of the NW corner of the park.

That's good parenting. But hey, its right across from Stella, so it can't be that bad, right?

These South End yuppies think its going to be Wellesley East just because they have arrived there.
