Drifter charged with South Boston attack, not murder - yet

Boston Police report arresting Edwin Alemany, 28, for a stabbing attack early this morning on Gates Street in South Boston.

Police say the victim told officers he had been following her before she was attacked. "The victim was able to break free and escape from the suspect. The suspect fled toward Dorchester Street."

Officials say that Alemany has yet to be charged with Amy Lord's death - or a third attack on a woman in South Boston.

At a press conference today, officials said whoever killed Lord kidnapped her while she was in her car, forced her to take money out of an ATM and then had her drive to Stony Brook Reservation in Hyde Park, where he stabbed her to death.

Innocent, etc.

When you have a revolving door court system - it's only a matter of time before a productive member of society gets murdered. Hope this serves as a wake-up call for everyone and results in a crackdown on all the $500-for-attempted-murder-bail judges.

Time and time again, a person with mental health issues qualifies for disability, so we give them a monthly check... and that's it. No services, no counseling, no job training. We need get help for those that need it.

I'm confused. Amy Lord, Gates Street, and what was the third stabbing?

There's Lord yesterday, the woman on Gates around midnight and a stabbing around 5 a.m. in Andrew Square.

Was the Andrew square stabbing 5am on Tuesday (right before lord) or 5am today?

The hours of 5-6 AM are an odd time for stabbings and car jackings directed against young women in the same vicinity. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a connection between the Lord case and this stabbing.
