These are pretty dangerous areas. People are distracted. Anything from cell phone use to uncertainty about what lane to go through (a sudden lane change) could've caused this. The next time you come into an area like this, take a peek at the amount of sid marks on the pavement. It's heads-up hockey out there!

They're really not nearly as difficult as people make them. My personal favorite has to do with the signs for over a mile telling you that EZPASS is on the left and cash is on the right approaching the Weston tolls and yet you still see people diving for the cash lanes at the last minute. Also the people that come to a dead stop at the EZPASS reader.

This region of the country has a problem with people who "need" to be in the left lane. It's their lane. Everyone lining up behind or passing on the right is a jerk who should recognize that the left lane is for cool kids only and you ain't cool. When it comes time to veer all the way to the right to use cash, because ain't nobody gonna track me, all these other assholes better get out of MY way.

refuse to use an EZ-Pass on the basis that "they are being tracked", yet they have a cell phone in their pocket.

Toll booths are course filters which prevent people who really shouldn't be on the highway from getting there.

Loosing these baseline driving tests are one of the downsides of the move to EZPass-only toll systems.

While the Mass Tpke is more costly to use in price, it's not only a more direct way to go, but it's way safer for the following reasons, especially in winter:

A) The Mass Tpke is a straightaway, without all these bottlenecked rotaries to contend with.

B) Drivers are warned way in advance of upcoming exits, and reduced speed-limits are posted in the event of inclement weather.
