Judge to man convicted of Dorchester quadruple murder: You're not going anywhere, pal

A Suffolk Superior Court judge today ruled against Calvin Carnes' request for a new trial for the brutal 2005 slaying of four men in a Dorchester basement, repeatedly calling his reasoning "without merit," the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

Judge Patrick Brady's ruling that Carnes got a fair trial comes three years after the Supreme Judicial Court, the state's highest, also told Carnes he got exactly what he deserved when sentenced to life in prison without parole for the deaths of Jason Bachiller, Jihad Chankhour, Edwin Duncan and Christopher Vieira,
