MBTA updates Kenmore just in time

Jon Lester

The MBTA has replaced the applique of Chicken and Beer Guy with Jon Lester at Kenmore station just in time for tonight's game - and a day after somebody complained about the old homage.

The T either prints their own or has a lot of them printed.

They aren't terribly costly, given the volume of them printed for buses and stations.

The costs are for material, volume doesn't matter. Further, the labor costs don't change.

Waste of money. They should've just taken the old one down.

on the part of management, who obviously didn't stop to consider the negative perception it conveys.

But that's par for the course with the MBTA. Multiple customers complain about overcrowded trains (a legitimate issue that actually affects the safety of riders) , and the T sends out a barrage of dubious "excuses" why they "can't" fix the problem. But a single customer complains that the T information booth at Kenmore has a likeness of Beckett (an "issue" that is so trivial it's pathetic) and "poof", it's gone the next day. Of course, the real complaint should have been "why does an MBTA information booth have Red Sox logos and a player's likeness on it in the first place?"

Heck of a way to run a railroad if you ask me.

Punching sand!

Maybe the mbta should just paint everything grey, that way its easier to transport all of us minions.

The MBTA isn't increasing their revenue by the MASSIVE amount of people being FORSED to take the T to the games by Mumbles.

Yup. The T was too busy fixing Kenmore to run the Red Line this morning. Makes perfect sense.

It's somebody's job at the MBTA to keep an eye on this site. This has to be more than a coincidence.

I think boston.com and bostonherald.com do the same - I see news out there that Adam has scooped them on that's interesting but not what I would call their usual fare.

Uhub becoming (already?) Boston's top news site at least for the Bostonerati??

for any company, let alone a public agency, would be keeping a watch on what's being reported and discussed about their employer in the local blogs.

As for the media, "why investigate stories when you can steal them from other sources (as long as you attribute)" seems to be the general mantra these days.

Pretty sure I saw Beckett there just yesterday evening.
