Handsome dogs and excellent
Handsome dogs and excellent photo!
Greyhounds are fantastic pets
...or as their owners say, "Greyt" pets!
They don't need a lot of space. Lots of them live in (and love) the city.
I thought Mass. liberals banned greyhounds in 2008?
I thought Mass. liberals banned greyhounds in 2008? Or was that just greyhound racing? I know most of the dogs were "put down" after the vote.
I think you have liberals
I think you have liberals confused with us. Real liberals wouldn't be BANNING everything.
Lame. Try again.
Lame. Try again.
But you just know
he was laughing the whole time he came up with that all by his big-boy self.
You have a problem with democracy?
I don't know if the people who voted out the racing were liberals or not. What I do know is that a MAJORITY of the people who bothered to vote did indicate a preference for ending greyhound racing.
So sorry that you have a problem with democracy. You could move to Russia and have Putin force everything you seem to agree with on other people, and get an odd thrill resembling ED drug use whenever he appears shirtless.
I have a problem with democracy
And I'm glad we actually don't have democracy. There's nothing pleasant about the majority dictating over the minority.
That said, animals should not be subjected to abuse, no. While I'd prefer more of a crackdown on the abuse in the racing community itself, rather than killing off racing entirely, I'm not terribly bothered by the results of the ban on racing. More important things in life.
"There's nothing pleasant

Speak for yourself kid!
Democracy?
In 2000, voters decided to lower the Mass. income tax rate from 5.85% to 5% by a 59 to 41 margin. Rep. Tom Finneran (D-Mattapan) blocked the reduction. Don't get me started on the death penalty, overwhelmingly approved by the voters several times and defeated by another last minute, switched vote by Rep. John Slattery (D-Peabody). What Democracy?
Oh great, somebody got him
Oh great, somebody got him started.
Far Out
Only on U-Hub can we go from a fluff piece about cute dogs dressing like elves and reindeer to nut-cases ranting about taxes and the death penalty. P.S.
My greyhound would never have worn antlers.
No one would ever confuse me
No one would ever confuse me with a liberal, but count me in as one who voted to ban grehound racing. I think that issue (and animal rights issues) knows no particular party - thank God.
I have a 70 LB pet greyhound
I have a 70 LB pet greyhound in this city. He's not banned. The racing is. I'm actually really impressed with how well he does as a city dog in a tiny apartment. The only unfortunate aspect is that most apartments here ban large dogs even though greyhounds are quiet and don't cause damage. Although racing is banned in MA but it is not banned in other states yet so dogs are frequently transported here from racing states for adoption.
The dog on the left seems to
The dog on the left seems to be enjoying the costume. The one on the right looks a little embarrassed by the whole thing.
Probably not embarrassed
One of the things I love the best about dogs is that they are never embarrassed by anything.
I feel bad for them
all the other dogs must be busting their balls over those faux antlers and doggy coat/sweater.
But the Greys could talk all kinds of smack to the other dogs..
...then haul ASS and nobody will EVER catch them. ;)
