If only Boston could win the Olympics, we'd have world-class trains for sure!

World class trains on an antiquated network
We still have to contend with the mess called the greenline with a stop every 10 feet.
We need a circle line badly.
At least a half circle line.
At least a half circle line.
Why stop there?
Why not have a sub-marine-way too? Considering how much a whale watch costs, there clearly a market for it.
Maybe they should run an in-street trolley line
Right down the middle of Centre Street, in JP!
We came so close to getting
We came so close to getting the JP green line back but Menino was adamant that it not happen because he wanted to prioritize parking for cars.
Citation?
Because the way I remember it, the MBTA was adamant there was no way in this lifetime they were ever going to restore any service past Heath Street and that the city had absolutely nothing to do with that. We're talking about a semi-autonomous authority that has been pruning back streetcar service since its creation.
The T
Adam, I get such a laugh out of your stalled T related rhymes. Please consider posting an annual compilation of them.

I lived in JP when the trolley ran down Centre St and ended at the Arborway yard (and the orange line was still elevated) on Washington St. When the trolley broke down, cars couldn't get around it. In the snow, cars would spin out on on the tracks. If bikers were not paying attention (myself included), wheels would get stuck in the track groove often with bad consequences.
The 39 LNG bus is way more efficient in moving people along that route, and still allow the other modes of transport.

somehow
street-running trolleys, or trams, exist in other cities that have cold-weather climates, many worse than Boston's, and it all works, with trams, private automobiles, and bicycles all using the road.
Smoke on the T
Can anyone explain what happened as to the mysterious smoke occurring on the Red Line at the downtown stops. Heard people smelled it at south station but the smell started creeping along the downtown stops on the red line and I started smelling it at park street while waiting for the always delayed Red Line because of a disabled train that is somewhere but they won't tell us where on the Braintree branch.
