This place was terrible.
Who's idea was it to put an Irish Pub in the North End anyways?
with or without a Capital One branch in it?
(see Boston Common, Boylston St, and Coolidge Corner if you don't know what this means)
Good riddance.
I went there once as part of a bachelorette night out for a friend. All of their toilets were overflowing with vomit and/or feces, and not one staff member seemed concerned about it. They were open and acting like it was perfectly normal/not a big deal. Vile place.
Replacing a bad place with
Replacing a bad place with another bad place, this time a chain. I know a lot of tourists walk by that location but Peets is terrible, hopefully the neighborhood can push for a local coffee shop, another chain coffee shop is not needed, especially one with subpar coffee.
there's already a local coffee shop on Salem Street
Boston Common Coffee (formerly Boston Beanstock)
Not to mention Bread and
Not to mention Bread and Butter right next door. In all honesty, what the North End needs is more casual places for locals to get well made, well priced, casual food and booze. We've already go enough coffee.
And theres already another
And theres already another chain (starbucks). So do you think neighborhoods (say Roslindale that already has a local pet store), shouldn't fight a chain pet store coming in because they have a local one? The North End or Roslindale becoming anywhere USA by becoming chained up is bad for making neighborhoods interesting places to visit/live and bad for the economy, since chains send most of the money out of the neighborhood.
and another on the corner right across the street
Bread and Butter
and thinking cup on hanover.
and thinking cup on hanover. with all those coffee spots and its poor overall quality, i can't imagine peet's lasting very long...
