Goody Glover's could become Peet's Coffee

NorthEndWaterfront.com tweets there's a meeting for neighbors on the proposal at 6 p.m. on Oct. 20 at the Salem Street restaurant - named for the last woman to be hanged as a witch in Boston.

Who's idea was it to put an Irish Pub in the North End anyways?

(see Boston Common, Boylston St, and Coolidge Corner if you don't know what this means)

I went there once as part of a bachelorette night out for a friend. All of their toilets were overflowing with vomit and/or feces, and not one staff member seemed concerned about it. They were open and acting like it was perfectly normal/not a big deal. Vile place.

Replacing a bad place with another bad place, this time a chain. I know a lot of tourists walk by that location but Peets is terrible, hopefully the neighborhood can push for a local coffee shop, another chain coffee shop is not needed, especially one with subpar coffee.

Boston Common Coffee (formerly Boston Beanstock)

Not to mention Bread and Butter right next door. In all honesty, what the North End needs is more casual places for locals to get well made, well priced, casual food and booze. We've already go enough coffee.

And theres already another chain (starbucks). So do you think neighborhoods (say Roslindale that already has a local pet store), shouldn't fight a chain pet store coming in because they have a local one? The North End or Roslindale becoming anywhere USA by becoming chained up is bad for making neighborhoods interesting places to visit/live and bad for the economy, since chains send most of the money out of the neighborhood.
