The Summer Street side of the project looks great,a big improvement to the area.

I walk by there twice a day. They seem to be making up for the last 6 years. Its going up fast.

Its nice to see that hole finally being filled. It is giving life to all sorts of retail in the surrounding area. Once the old Filenes space opens next year, it will really be helpful.

Now someone just needs to fill in the old B&N space and DTX will be more or less complete.

I can't believe how many years the B&N space has been empty.

Is there reasoning behind its vacancy? Damage to the structure, landlord being stingy, just plain too expensive?

Maybe removing that lousy facade covering the original building would help. Same for Tello's. And why are the AT&T store and The Children's Place stores still closed? I thought they were under repair but its taking forever...

Add to that the empty stores on Winter Street...there's still a long way to go.

I can't figure out when it is supposed to open ... and whether I make a Trader Joes expedition or wait it out.

Roche Brothers and Primark are opening early next year.

Barnes and Noble space is owned by Robert Posner who is trying to get way to much for the space and has had at least ten deals fall through.

The empty stores on Winter Street are owned by Morris Nagar and he is asking 10K a month. That's why it was empty. If it was reasonable I would lease it myself.

Tello's is leased and a Forever 21 type store is going in.

ADAM, I can't believe there is no mention of the new $30K kiosks that just opened this week in DTX in front of Walgreens and over on State St. If this pilot program replacement for the pushcarts that have been on the streets for 30 years isn't news I don't what is. It's a HUGE upgrade for the area and something the vendors have been fighting for, for years.
( I own 2 of them)
