South Boston woman charged with breaking into cop's home and attacking him

WBZ reports a key question is whether she was his ex or they were still an item; he claims she broke in and attacked him and his current love and that she fell down stairs; she claims she found him with another woman and he pummeled her in anger at being caught.

She really looks like she could use a Marlboro Red, a lahge Dunkie's iced with the styrofoam cup holder and a scratch ticket.

Looks to me like she got beat up, someone's daughter, sister, not the least bit funny.
Clown.

That didn't take long at all!

Cop messed her up pretty good. I wonder if he's lying about the whole situation.

Adam: time for some down votes....I don't see the humor.
That poor girl. Could you imagine if she is telling the truth.

no matter how you cut it this woman has some issues, none of them are funny.

If you google image search her name you would see that she does not fit the immediate thought of what you are stereotyping her as.

DAs and cops are having a big campaign (in Middlesex Co., at least) complete with funding new councilors and services. Usually the man always gets blamed and his life and career ruined, but this time its a cop.

Her right eye looks the worst. If the cop is left handed, a punch is more likely.

How's about we wait for a trial and the results.

She started it so I punched her in the face. A friend of mine who is a cop in Quincy told me the city is getting sued by a trooper who was arrested and got his job back after he beat up his girlfriend who is a member of BPD.

What?!?

I have a friend who has a friend who is cousin's with that same friend who thinks this comment is absurd.

Bad cops get away with murder in this country. Literally. They're almost as coddled as the rich.

how would jury and judge find out if they were still a couple or not? That would be deciding factor in convicting either the cop or the bruised "ex"

It's an amazing thing.

I'm troubled that you all apparently agree that men can't be the victims of domestic violence.

As far as her injuries, let's just elect to ignore the fact that there was another female in the room (some may refer to her as a "witness") and the police elected to arrest the suspect.

He ceases to be a victim, IMO. We have 911 for a reason- men who get hit by their girlfriends should learn to use it.

What if the girl is bigger than the guy and he legitimately fears for his life?

She fell down the stairs and got a black eye? That sounds like a pretty standard DV cover story.

No idea what is going on here, but based on her linkedin page, Ms. Niland does not seem the type to attack someone unprovoked. Baseless speculation alert!

I wonder whether she "broke in" with her own house key.
"Fell down the stairs?"
Pathetic corrupt blue wall of silence.

it's better to stay out of a husband / wife, GF / BF (or the gay equivalent) argument-tiff. That said, the woman indeed shows physical signs characteristic of being punched with a fist, not falling down stairs. The officer has some explaining to do. My gut instinct tells me she came home, found him with 'the other woman', and the fur flew. This would also suggest he wasn't expecting her home, since it was early AM. Meh, maybe she did 'break in' with a key unannounced, knowing he'd be in bed with the home wrecker.

That said, anything is possible. Couples separating, fighting, do some crazy ass shit. And yes, women are perfectly capable of abuse and violence, in addition to psychological games.

Not sure how many of you Wusses every had a black eye, but getting hit in the eye to cause that much swelling took some force and inflicts a lot of pain.

Multiple black eyes in my life. Nose broken once. I've been in my share of fights, stabbed, was jumped multiple times growing up, etc.

You were responding to my other post above.
