Suspect arrested for February sexual assault in the North End

UPDATE: Suspect released on personal recognizance, although required to wear a GPS device, after the judge questioned the evidence against him.

NorthEndWaterfront.com reports a man was arrested around 7 p.m. at the Nazarro Center in connection with an attack Feb. 14 on Unity Place in which a woman was assaulted and then photographed by her attacker.

WCVB reports police rushed to the area after his alleged victim spotted him last night.

Hope they caught the guy, but a perv so close to children makes me shiver.

Rape of adults has nothing to do with children.

Not to defend the guy, but he's not accused of raping anyone. A "sexual assault" could consist of him grabbing her, touching her inappropriately, etc, but he didn't rape her. Still should go away for a while....and he's not the brightest bulb doing that in his own neighborhood.

around children is always a concern, whether or not they target them. Are you really so clueless, or just pretend to be so?

Sexual predators period are a concern. Whether you are a woman, man or child. No offense but it doesn't always have to be about the children. We should have concern for all.

The "sexual predator" has an alibi...he was home with his fiancé. The victim has also already ID'd someone else for the attack, but he was already locked up. I'm guessing she didn't get a great look at the attacker.

Even since I moved to boston from another region it seems like it has tons of perverts and mentally ill. Maybe I just pay attention to the news too much and ride the T too much?

Where were you from previously that had none of the things that happen here?

was it a big city, small, suburban town, rural? Mentally ill people and perverts exist everywhere, including, I guarantee you, the paradise you came from.

A big problem in the U.S. is the way our society handles mental illness and treatment options. For generations now, the standard is to drug people up, then dump them (yes, dump them) back into the 'community'. The 'community' usually means an urban area, where it's easier to create housing for the mentally and physically disabled (NIMBYism is rampant in suburban America), shelters and social service facilities for the homeless (MANY seriously mentally ill people are dumped literally onto the streets and left homeless). And this might surprise some, but many if not most of the 'scary' homeless and mentally ill people you encounter in, for example, Boston, are not from here. They are often encouraged by authorities where they come from to go to places like Boston, NYC, etc., because those 'regions' don't want to deal with the mentally ill in their own communities. They especially don't want to pay for it, so they 'dump' their 'problem' people (not just mentally ill, but also ex-cons, people released from county jails with no place to go, etc.) on places that actually provide social services.

So don't kid yourself, the region you came from has it's share of mentally ill people, and of course pervs exist everywhere.
