TC's liquor license could live on in new Berklee restaurant/performance space

The Boston Licensing Board decides tomorrow whether to let the owner of the fire-ravaged TC's Lounge on Haviland sell the liquor license to a company that plans a restaurant and music venue in the new Berklee tower on Mass. Ave.

Jeremiah Tracy, manager of the proposed Boston Beats, said he's hoping to recreate the best of the old Wally's - a place where Berklee and other musicians can just drop in for jam sessions as others enjoy a bite to eat and something to drink.

Tracy said the restaurant would serve "barista-driven" food and coffee in the morning, health foods to go at lunch and tapas-style means for dinner.

The price of the license was not disclosed.

Welp, looks like I was off in guessing the Cactus Club license was going to Berk

It was a nice little hideaway for a quickie , or a session, if you wanted.

TC's was an awesome dive bar. Institutional expansion is one thing, but I wish they'd keep their hands off our booze.

Berklee had nothing to do with the closing of TC's. After the fire, the Fenway Coop threw them out.

Not true--they refused to bring space up to code, so were not renewed.

Obscure termination clause in the lease the owners of T.C.'s had forgotten about.
