Venezuelan president threatens Harvard prof with legal action

Seems the president of Venezuela doesn't like being called corrupt, so he went on national TV to threaten legal action against the Harvard professor who called him that. The professor, Kennedy School of Government professor Ricardo Hausmann, himself a pre-Chavez Venezuelan official, isn't too worried, the Crimson reports:

"I have the protection of the U.S.. I have the protection of Harvard. I feel a free man," Hausmann said.

No comprende, vas ist bitch ?
With respect to the article . " Maduro’s comments came in the wake of the publication, on Sept. 5, of an article co-written by Hausmann that argued the country should contemplate defaulting on its debt and using the money previously reserved to pay creditors to support its struggling domestic economy. Venezuela is facing widespread shortages of basic domestic goods and has one of the highest inflation rates in the world."
Now , I understand the crude isn't the cleanest requiring heavier refining , but in light of the below link, and the free oil program, I am not understanding the bankruptcy.

Venezuela is importing it now because of a domestic shortage.

A true miracle of a corrupt command economy that an oil rich country is now coping with shortages of oil.

Meet Ms. Streisand. I'm sure the two of you are about to have loads in common.

One is rich and successful having made their money off talent and hard work. The other is a thief.

How are they anything alike?

The Streisand effect is the well-known effect of lawsuits intended to suppress information actually causing its more widespread dissemination. In this case, threats of legal action will no doubt draw more media attention to what was previously a fairly unremarkable article on a minor opinion blogging website.

Just because she charges $500 for a ticket to her boring show doesn't make her a thief. Her movies, however, are definitely criminal.
