Well that's a relief: Tufts student info not being funneled to Middle East terror group

Tufts Daily reports the university has changed the name of the system students and professors uses to access student information from the Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) to just the Student Information System (SIS), "based on the negative associations with the group Islamic State, formerly known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)."

Remember AYDs?

We grow a number of different types of tomatoes, and in going over the list the other day I rediscovered that one of them is called "Isis Candy." Just a few short months ago that was no more remarkable than any other tomato name...

Le sigh.

So the students can dub it "big sis" now?

So now they've lost their positive association with the goddess Isis. Nice work. The terrorist group will be a footnote of history soon enough.

"ISIS" already is a footnote, as the group call themselves just the "Islamic State" ("IS") now.

Maybe they should rename the software Freedom Fries. This is about as silly.

This acronym revisionism effort is getting ridiculous.
It's like the Freedom Fries all over again.

And Southern Tsunami Sushi at MIT is now called Shinkansen. Let's hope the Shinkansen doesn't have a major accident that forces another renaming.

When I was at Tufts (graduated '09), it was called SIS!
