Yes, officer, 18 snowmen just flew off the back of the car and into my windshield

Car snowmen

Charlie MacSteven spotted the ultimate Masshole snow vehicle today on Comm. Ave. along BU. He counted 18 snowmen on the roof.

a Mass Plate!

Looks like MA to me, just not a standard PAN plate. I also see a Natick round bumper sticker on the hatch.

looks pretty specifically like a Jersey plate to me.

Actually I think you're right - I grew up in Jersey and it definitely looks like Jersey. It didn't pop out as Jersey at first due to the poor lighting. It doesn't look remotely yellow, but you can see the change from a darker shade on top down to a lighter shade on bottom.

Natick bumper sticker, but New Jersey plates, huh?

Nice job cheating Natick out of its excise taxes.

Reminder: if you see out of state plates in your neighborhood for more than 30 days, they're in violation of the law. Report it to 800-I-PAY-TAX. It's probably best to wait until 60+ days so you can truthfully say you've seen the vehicle there for a while; otherwise they don't bother to do anything.

If I had to call my insurance company to file a claim because a snowman smashed my windshield.

It's the Masshole's winter version of the rear-windshield family decal. They have A LOT of kids!

I thought only people from states outside of Mass called people from here Massholes? Ohh, thats right, Adam is from New York. I guess he can use it all he wants.

I'd never even heard of the term until well after I came up here (yes, it's true: New Yorkers really don't spend much time at all thinking about Boston).

But you really need to come up with a better strawman argument. Here are some home-grown Massholes - you can find more with this amazing thing called Google:

I was also born and raised in NY and here are my childhood recollections of Mass up to about 1980:

Cape Cod
Battleship Cove
A perennially crappy baseball team that we never thought twice about except for that one game playoff (Baltimore was the AL east team to worry about and the Rays and the Jays didn't even exist - nor did the AL central for that matter)
The Kennedys
Harvard (rarely - because nobody I knew ever got in there)

After 1980 or so you had Tip O'Neill, high taxes and the Duke in a helmet in a tank.

Other than that - the topic never came up. Never heard the term until after I lived here for over a decade.

... although I first heard the term up in New Hamster, it's been a term of... endearment? ... for a long time. I've been using it as my DailyKos sig for aeons.

I have to agree with Adam. I've never heard the term outside of the Bay State (now, that's a term that no one in Massachusetts uses, I don't think.) I'm also willing to bet that 85% of New Yorkers either couldn't place Boston on a map, or has some kind of vague idea that it's "up there' without knowing anything more than that.

... a term of pride for (way too) many folks in this state.

If Adam sucks so bad with his hate for Southie, use of Masshole and superiority complex (bc he's from NY), WHY do you people continue to read UHub?

That is the body count from accidents the driver has, like football players sometimes put marks on their helmets for sacks.
