Chelsea officials were kind of hoping King Arthur's could be re-born as something other than a strip club

LOL

Don't see too many of those types in Chelsea...

Nothing says "suit and tie" more than driving through an industrial wasteland, parking your car safely in a pothole, checking out the boobs on a chick with track marks on her limbs and then dodging bullets on the way back out to your car.

"Gentlemen only."

¡Que Viva El Rey Arturo!

The only thing MORE suit-and-tie would be chowing down on the chicken wings and other "bar food" they plan to serve! That's why I always rock a machine-washable Harris Tweed.

There is no way in hell that location is going to support a "suit and tie" clientele or atmosphere.

"Oh hey, let me pop outside to get some air and maybe smoke a cigarette...while all the midnight 18-wheeler deliveries of half-rotting produce roll in".

Your clients will be truck drivers and college students...but you already knew that.

Please. College students have free internet and other college students.

The only "college students" in that place will be on stage.

Performing arts majors from the Art Institute and/or current students at Bunker Hill?

Maybe the mob is going back to suits and ties. Somehow, I don't envision the wheelers and dealers of the financial district heading over to an industrial wasteland to go to a suit and tie strip club.

Although this picture shows how people would have dressed at the Revere casino, the Everett casino is expecting to attract the same crowd, and it will be located just down the street from the strip club. Only requiring a suit and tie might seem casual by comparison.

... at the Monte Carlo casinos in Demy's "Bay of Angels"...

To be honest I can't think of a better place to keep a strip joint. It's in a wasteland of industrial space, produce markets, scrap metal merchants and oil terminals. It's never going to be an up-and-coming area. Not with the smell of light sweet crude that wafts over the area.

Plus you need an ATV to get there. I've never seen bigger pot holes in my life than Beacham street.

I was just down Beacham on a brewery crawl going from Mystic to Night Shift.

Small compact cars do pretty well. You can drive around the entire hole. The Escalade that went down the street however had to go through every single one and tried to do so as daintily as an Escalade can. Was fun to watch.

... have good tires, good headlights, and ride slow. Zipping through at 15+ mph, especially at night, will likely have bad results ranging from a blowout to a fall-over with broken ribs.

(btw, there are much better ways to ride or drive from Mystic to Night Shift that don't involve risking your tires, wheels, and bones)

And I mean that with all sincerity. How many other people could chime in on a strip club posting with suggestions on how to bike there safely?

I love it...

I've never been to King Arthur's, nor wanted to go, but I did take this bicycle tour of local breweries a couple of weeks ago, stopping at both Mystic and Night Shift. From there it went on to a real hole-in-the-wall, Idle Hands.

Once I took the T to Night Shift, but I arrive too early and they didn't open for a few more hours. So I looked at the map and thought Mystic was close enough to walk.

That was a huge mistake.

I did discover there is a restaurant on that street though. The lovely Don Frito's, which is located next to a trailer that has "TEES" written on it with what looks like tape.

Both can be seen here:

Did you stop to eat there? If so, do you recommend it? Yelpers haven't found the place yet, but they have quite the fan cub on Facebook.

(Next time you decided to walk or bike or drive between Mystic and Night Shift, use the route I suggested in my comment above)

That place looks like it got picked up by a whirlyblob and transported from the edge of a hop field of my childhood and dropped in that industrial area!

I must check it out.

But even I admit that is one sad, depressing, soul sucking area. But it serves a purpose. Every pkace can't be Disney World.

Didn't the city of Chelsea own this place after taking it for unpaid taxes?

Although I have never had the good fortune of stepping into King Arthur, I love the general area. Once in a while, I drive through there to dump a load of scrap metal at Mattuchio, trying not to loose half my payload to a pothole. These scrap metal places are worth the trip in themselves. It's the anti-Newbury street, and that's probably why I feel so comfortable over there. If I had it my way, suits and ties would be forever prohibited from that neighborhood!

but is it too much to ask that Chelsea and Everett occasionally close that road and repave it? Especially Everett -- their side is much worse than Chelsea's.
