East Boston getting its skyline on

East Boston crane in operation

One of the first of East Boston's waterfront luxury buildings is going up. Today, the white crane lifted up a segment of red framing to the top of the red crane, where workers bolted it to the boom to make it longer.

Vegas Express? I can't find much on its current status/a sale listing but the USMS lists the Admiral's Hill Marina as their seller for seized boats in MA.

Finally, a mini skyscraper going up in East Boston, and hopefully more to come! In 20 years
East Boston will have it's own skyline. There will be no need to view the Boston skyline from Eastie anymore. You can sit back on your back porch or on your Eastie rooftop and get a glimps of the Eastie skyline. Lol

I doubt many of the people who live in EB now will live there in 20 years. Or even 5-10 years. gentrification, rising rents are already beginning to push people out.

Do you realize when a longtime Eastie resident decides to sell their East Boston house in todays market there is only one place for them to go, that will be exclusive North shore towns like Saugus, Lynnfield & Middleton, lol.
It's the lifestyle and social and economic class that draws Eastie people to these north shore towns.
Why do you think there is so much retail /residential development going on in these areas right now, high demand.

I'd say the majority of eb residents are renters. We don't benefit from higher home prices. So many families chose to rent in eb and now they are being pushed out further and further from the city, public transit, and tier jobs. Eb Wagoner teat "affordable" places in Boston and now it's coming to an end in the name of more luxury condos, as though that is why the city needs more of. what a shame. a successful city needs a mix of all kinds of housing.

Majority of East Boston residents made plea's to the city of boston for over several decades, "when will it be their turn for new development on the Eastie waterfront". I'm certain that the residents knew what they were facing ,when developments started on the waterfront, higher rents for the entire East Boston neighborhood. Do you think the majority of Eastie residents that supported and pushed for development on the waterfront are againts higher rents in Eastie today, I don't think so, they embrace it.
