Guy gets life for murdering man he didn't know

The Herald reports on sentencing for Jahvon Goodwin, convicted of second-degree murder for repeatedly stabbing Rashad Lesley-Barnes after they both got off a 23 bus in Dudley Square in 2012.

Because he was convicted of second-degree murder, Goodwin will be eligible for parole in 20 years.

This article reports somewhat on Goodwin's motives: He was schizophrenic and "heard voices commanding him to kill," so he followed the victim off the bus and then stabbed him. The jury didn't accept the insanity defense of course.
