That house on Hyde Park Avenue

They don't have the gaudiest or brightest display, but everybody who spends time on Hyde Park Avenue knows that house near West Street because it's not just decorated for Christmas, but for pretty much every major holiday, including July Fourth and Thanksgiving, and has been for years.

We have one in Cambridgeport that does all the majors: July 4, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, St Patties and Easter.
Easter is the bestest because the string of lights spelling out PEEP in cursive looks a hell of a lot like POOP.

... is getting more and more festive with each passing day. (Though his Christmas stuff is never so wonderfully over the top as his Halloween decorating).

What, do you seek this place out? Grew is practically a dead end.
full disclosure- I run up Grew Ave several times a week, which is much easier than driving due to the gate at one end of the street allowing for pedestrians to get by. The house in question is pretty awesome, particularly from the beginning of October until Christmas.
We're only a few blocks away
We've been checking out the Grew House for several years now. It is an awesome thing to have so close at hand.
Grew shouldn't have the interconnection with the rest of the neighborhood behind it blocked by a car gate.
The other way around with Grew
The gate prevents access to/from Hyde Parkish points, like the Dale Street playground and Sherrin Urban Wild (a new spot for the family)
You used to be able to to from Grew to Mansur with a car. To be honest, I don't blame the neighbors for getting the gate installed.

This didn't have a name when we first arrived. ;-) And it was pretty much a waste land. It looks like it has a new trail built into it -- but I haven't tried this out.
My weird relationship with the wild
This fall, just turned 3 yo Waquiot Jr. decided one day that he wanted to go into the woods. Nowadays, we cannot go by without stopping to look at the mushrooms and climb the hills. It is a great spot.
I did get to watch the summer youth jobs folk on break from trail work back in 2011 and 2012. It was odd to see a port a potty at the trailhead, but it could have come in handy for some of my loops to Cleary Square.

... used to be carpeted with broken glass (from teen beer blasts, perhaps).
They still are
Okay, not carpeted, but the little guy picked up a shard the other day.
I have to go all Dukakis on the trails someday.
