The railroad tracks are the hint... My guess is Mass Ave, late 1890s
OR somewhere along where the pike runs thru the south end now (since the rails existed long before the pike)

I actually meant the railroad tracks going under the road.. not the trolley tracks :)
PS - I do too. I'd love to take a trolley from Nashua NH to Hyannis.

It looks like Castle Street was obliterated with the New York streets urban renewal, but looks to be where Herald Street is now. The bridge in the foreground is over the tracks.

If this photo was taken in 1904, where is the Washington Street Elevated (Orange Line) which opened in 1901?

The Washington Street tunnel had not yet opened and trains exited the Pleasant Street portal of the Tremont Street subway and met the elevated on Castle Street.

Don't want to spoil the fun, but Bunker Hill Brewery comes back to 40 Alford Street, Charlestown, Massachusetts, where the T Maintenance shops et al are banked by the mighty soon to be casinoed Mystic River .
I think that's just an ad though
and not the actual brewery. Methinks this is Washington Street.

Tremont!
I loved Tremont Ale so much. It was my Local Brew of choice for many years, though I'm quite happy with the craft beer choices now. Still, nice to be reminded.
