Orange Line stops after woman hit by train at Haymarket

Shortly after 9 p.m. Scott Eisen reports she was alive when firefighters got her out from under the train to hand over to EMS for stabilization and transportation to a local hospital.

The T swapped in buses between North Station and Oak Grove and told riders to take the Green Line for downtown points.

Is the T actually extending Route 57 service to North Station to compensate?

Or have they added some weeknight trips on the Route 193 I didn't hear about. ;)

Arrived at State off of blue line to hear that nothing was running through State. Walked to Park and took an E to Copley, then walked to Back Bay. Just in time to miss a train to Forest Hils. Trains were running again, but widely spaced. Finally got an FH-bound train just short of 11:00.

They were referring to what I assume is a typo. Oak Square (which is where it says the bus is going to) is in Brighton and serviced by the 57 bus, the Orange Line station is Oak Grove.

Fixed. I can only assume I confused the two because I was also working on a story about Roslindale Square last night as well.

I am hoping for the woman who was injured in this incident recovers quickly.
However I would like to take this opportunity to look at this as a lesson to all the young people. To all the young people that commute by train or and live around commuter rail train tracks, please do not play or go in unauthorized areas of high-speed trains or even low speed trains. Over the summer and in the past they have been multiple tragic stories surrounding young people in trains. Unfortunately these trains do not stop on a dime. Train platforms are nowhere to be playing. I have seen many teenagers joking around on the T platform if your joke turns into something tragic and someone get killed you're going to jail in the surviving people are going to be hurting forever. T platforms and train tracks on nowhere to be playing. Please commute safely and enjoy the MBTA.
