Cambridge Police report a woman groped in Harvard Square around 8:30 p.m. yesterday is the latest victim of what may be a serial groper in the area.
Police say the woman was attacked as she walked near Mass. Ave. and Garden Street:
The victim reports a suspect bumped into her with his shoulder and then grabbed her buttocks.
Police say the suspect is black, in his mid-20s, about 5'10" and stocky, with short hair. They say a similarly described suspect is responsible for several similar attacks:
- Garden Street on Wednesday, Aug. 26 at approximately 10:15 p.m.
- Brattle Square on Friday, Aug. 28 at approximately 7:35 p.m.
- Garden Street on Monday, Aug. 31 at approximately 8:20 p.m.
Police add that Ronald Cattouse was arrested for an attack on Mass. Ave. on Sunday, Aug. 30. Another man, Ronald Byrd of Quincy, was arrested for indecent assault and battery on Mass. Ave. in Central Square.
Cambridge Police are actively working with the Harvard University Police Department to investigate these incidents and have directed patrols in the Harvard Square area. At this point in the investigation, it has not been determined if the suspects who have been arrested are connected to the outstanding Indecent Assault and Batteries.
