I cheated and looked it up and was off a little bit. I thought it was Nag from Rikki Tikki Tavi.

Braintree Police just reported that the big, bad, scary (not) snake has been apprehended and is being debriefed by Animal Control. Have they called his parents?

Not sure why this reminded me of the old Weekly Week article entitled "SNAKES ARE EVERYWHERE".

The snake was found in Weymouth, kinda sorta nowhere near where the snake was reportedly lost. Followup message from BPD said the matter was under investigation and appropriate action would be taken if this was some sort of joke.

Our indigenous fauna do a pretty damn good job of being large and snaky. Milk snakes can get to a metre or more in length!

I once found a molt by my front steps that was not the full snake molt, but was over 2' long. That went right into a ziploc for show and tell!

I almost stepped on a a kid milk snake in the Burns WMA in Newbury a few days ago.

I initially mistook it for a rattler.
