Owl in West Roxbury

Edward Zarrow reports that the owl that likes to perch in a tree hollow at Weld and Maple streets in West Roxbury didn't even flinch today as the snow fell on him or her.

Such a sweet photo. Should we make him/her the official mascot for this winter? Little Jacob would also be an acceptable option. Just so long as it's not a brawling commuter, a space saver, or a hostile note.

Looks like an eastern screech owl (on the mass audobon page, they even feature a photo of one in a tree nook like the one pictured above http://www.massaudubon.org/learn/nature-wildlife/birds/owls/species). Either way, wonderful photo!
