This is a bummer but you can't beat leaving as a well loved champion.

Certainly don't know the guy any more than what I see on TV - but always struck me as one of the more decent human beings in sports. Best of luck to him wherever he lands.

I've dealt with many athletes and other celebs, and Vince Wilfork stands out as one of the most genuine, kindest and down-to-earth guys I've ever met. He was always a joy to work with.

All the best to Vince, Bianca and the kids, and thanks a billion for eleven great years.

Fast Forward to early October. Patriots will be 2 and 2 and everyone will say we're screwed because we let Vince go.

Keep fast forwarding to February and we're in the Super Bowl.

Rinse, repeat.

Will that include Sypgate or Deflated balls? Cuz the Patsies can't seem to make the Super Bowl without some form of cheating.

to make the Super Bowl without some sort of manufactured "scandal" created by the media that has no basis behind it.

If you want to admit to the world that you watch more TMZ than NFL, just come out and say it. Stop mincing words.

Not even worth my time bothering to explain "deflategate" to you.

...that the whole "deflategate" nonsense has been thoroughly debunked? Or did the sound of that news not penetrate over the earsplitting whine of your grinding axe?

as history has shown but he is apart of an extreme minority/dying breed ie the mountain of a man, run stuffing, double team requiring, "nose guards"/D tackles.

They can re-sign him for less $$. If not, I wish him the best. One of my all-time favorites.

Sad day in New England sports. Wilfork is leaving on top and was a pleasure seeing him anchor the Patriots defense for 11 seasons. He was a true professional and a NE Patriot through and through. Good luck Vince!

For the past 11 years, Patriots fans sometimes wondered about the corners and safeties. There were some lean times in the linebacking corp. Defensive ends came and went, some very good and some just OK. The one absolute constant, barring injury, was Vince in the middle doing his job well.

God bless you, Vince. Classy way to go out. See you at your Hall of Fame induction.

Or have you never read James Joyce's Ulysses through to the last chapter?
