Boston Bike Party show us the tunnel a determined group of bicyclists with shovels dug out of a snow mound at the Wellington T stop - where the T dumped snow right on a bike path.

It was great until Inspectional Services came and shut it down for not meeting code.

They would still be bickering about how it is the DCR's responsibility or the MBTAs responsibility. Oh, and they would need a bunch of hearings about it so Pentinane could blather on about his latest conspiracy theory by the UN.

Great group were frustrated that someone put the snow-bank at the end of the bike lane. so they took care of it.

Around eight of us (and a couple who brought beersupport), over a couple afternoons/evenings. Had lots of fun. It would be beyond fantastic if this somehow raises awareness of winter bicycle commuting.

While we all think the city 'should' be clearing hydrants and crosswalks, there was a time (like, most of human history) when people had to go out in bad weather and do stuff that needed to be done. Good for the bike folks.

(And the hydrant digger in Dorchester).

Be a grownup. You can't make the T run on time, but (if you are reasonably healthy) you can figure out how to shovel the stuff on your block.

A red line train got stuck in the bicycle snow tunnel, so now the T will use buses to route bicyclists around the tunnel.
