For defrauding the Commonwealth, or should I (expletive) in one hand?

Find it in your heart to just let him have his days in peace.

They look like vultures circling a corpse!

... this would appear to be an organized press event rather than paparazzi mobbing someone.

I wish Carmen Ortiz would lock up all the other politicans that were involved in the Probation Scandal.

Sal DiMasi did not get an 8 (eight) year sentence for stealing $66K. If he was just a bookkeeper embezzling $66K, he would have gotten a much lighter sentence.

  • He got eight years for being a lawyer who stole $66K from the public.
  • He got eight years for being a state legislature who stole $66K.
  • He got eight years for being the Speaker of the Mass. House of Representatives who stole $66K.
  • He got eight years for being the third consecutive Speaker of the Mass. House who was convicted of a federal crime.
  • He got eight years for using his high office to cause the legislature to pass, and the governor to sign, a bill that would pay him a monthly bribe.
  • Most of all, he got eight years for contributing to the public perception that the 'system is rigged'.

Not to be insensitive: I believe the courts made the right decision, however I feel in campassion cancer case or similar health cases such as this, if the person's health goes it remission and the person's regains their health; they should be returned to finish their jail time or a modified term. But not totally free.

Prison has changed him.. he looks so skinny and unhealthy.

He's got some pretty serious health problems, hence the early release. What you see are the ravages of cancer, not the penal system.

Right after you said that it dawned on me that was the reason! Thanks for jogging my memory.
