Check out the rare shade of red used for the main staircase at Cambridge Public Library on Broadway.

They should have more security for that container of red mercury.

Or just a pigment of your imagination?

Say what I will about having Harvard as a neighbor, it's like having an organized, wealthy hoarder next door with lots of cool shit.

It annoys me that Harvard doesn't open its libraries to the general public like most of the local college libraries do, but with stuff like this I certainly understand their point of view.

In the late 1980s visitors were admitted to the first floor of Widener (after security checks) where I remember seeing their copy of Shakespeare First Folio and illuminated manuscript of the Canterbury Tales. I don't know when they closed to visitors.
