If that's not your thing (and Israelis, amazingly enough, eat some of the same stuff you probably do), no problem, Boston has, what, 63,000 other places where you can get coffee and some other type of food?

Israeli food is great. Israelis have influenced from around the world including the US. I just wish this place was in Virginia Beach rather than Boston. It would be nice to get some shakdhouks and Israelo coffee. Of course it's not the hardest dish to make yourself, but it would be nice to know more people in my city were enjoying Israeli food.

Lack of normal food is a real problem in Boston. Just yesterday I went to a Chinese restaurant and ordered a burger but they said they didn't serve them. WTF! All they had was this crap soup with white cubes. Why did they come to America with that crap.

Later that night I wanted a Boston Creme donut so I went to a well recommended burrito place and they told me to get lost. Don't they know this is AMERICA. I bet they'll go out of business soon because no one wants those foil turds.

This city sucks. You can't get normal food in any of the ethnic restaurants.

Come on, they just mean normal food like a deep-fried, circular piece of dough slathered in liquid sugar and finished with ice cream sundae toppings. You know, normal food that one would get with a coffee.

None of that crazy stuff like eggs with tomatoes, or strained yogurt. I mean, how can yogurt strain something? Literally shaking my damn head just thinking about it.

(Actually you probably are.)

Back in the day the old school places served some American fare. Some still do.

I remember when I first started dating a girl living here from out of state she ordered take out. I asked her to get an order of french fries and gravy along w/ everything else.

She thought I was putting her up to something and we went back and forth. I said please, just ask the guy. She humored me and the guy added it of course and she then ordered them all the time. She couldn't believe it. Great comfort food.

Those old school places knew their clientele.
