Malden man who was convicted of beating one T worker charged with slapping another

Mohammed Noor

Transit Police report arresting Mohammed Noor, 29, early this morning after he alleged slapped a bus driver who insisted he pay his fare.

Noor was charged with assault and battery on a public employee and disorderly conduct following the 12:45 a.m. incident in Malden Center, police say. According to police:

While stopped in the Commercial Street busway a male, later identified as Mohamed Noor, 29, of Malden, entered the bus. Noor however stood in the doorway preventing the victim from closing the doors and continuing on his route. Eventually Noor boarded but refused to pay his fare, the victim explained to Noor he would have to pay his fare or exit the bus. Noor began to make verbal threats and insults towards the victim and in doing so placed other passengers in fear of their safety. When the victim refused to move the bus Noor struck the victim in the face and head with his scarf and hands.

In July, 2014, Noor pleaded guilty to stomping a T worker at Roxbury Crossing in 2013. He was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in jail, but the judge then suspended the sentence on condition he stay out of trouble.

The very next month, he was charged with beating a man at the Sullivan Square T stop when the man wouldn't give him any money. However, the Sullivan Square charges were dismissed when the victim failed to appear in court, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

The DA's office adds he is scheduled for a hearing next month in Roxbury District Court to determine whether he should be put in jail for violating the terms of his suspended sentence for the 2013 case by getting arrested. Several hearings in the past on the question were postpoined while he was detained by ICE for possible immigration violations.

Innocent, etc.

For the people who go nuts about the amount of money T drivers make: I would say it's on the low side for having to put up with shitheads like this.

...Noor was held in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody for a time, court records show.

An official with ICE said they have not placed a detainer on him, but added “ICE is closely monitoring the situation.”

I would have never guessed that a man named Mo Noor would turn out to be a piece of shit.

... which negates the second.

I was on the NY subway recently and noticed the signs that say assaulting drivers is a felony. Is it the same here? Should be.

Why bother having police or prosecutors if this is how the system works?

Because all that matters is if the jury and judge like the sob story his PD recites .
