Transit Police report a man was hit and killed by a Lowell Line train near 662 Boston Ave. in Medford around 7 p.m. on Thursday.

is adjacent to the platform. There's not enough info to determine to what extent this person was "trespassing" near a platform. However, (depending on the schedule), and at that time of day trains in either direction would be slowing to stop if anyone is visible.

However, the West Medford commuter rail station (there is no station in Medford) is nowhere 662 Boston Avenue.

I think trains last stopped at Ball Square* in the 1960s or even earlier. I remember the old station building being used for a martial arts studio, but that's gone now too.

* the station was officially called "North Somerville" even though it was actually just across the line into Medford
