Mayor Marty Walsh celebrates Chinese New Year in Boston

Obviously there are a lot of perks, but man sometimes being mayor must be a huge hassle in terms of the 24/7 aspect of it, visiting community events, kissing babies, etc...

Nothing against New Year's banquet specifically, just that there's probably something most days of the week where someone will be sad/mad if you blow it off.

Rob Consalvo used to say he had 3 community meetings every night. Now, I know he worked hard, but if meeting #1 started at 6 and lasted an hour, he'd be at meeting #2 at 7:30. Even if he was only there a half hour, that puts the third meeting at 8:30, which means either he overstated his schedule or had one community group a night out late.
