Rob McDougall reports the pedestrian was hit at Saratoga and Bennington streets. WCVB reports the driver stayed on scene after the 10:15 p.m. crash.
The block of Saratoga Street west of Bennington, before the rotary, has parking in both the right and left lanes in each direction (that is, parking is against the median as well as against the right curb each way).
My condolences and sympathy go to the family and friends of the pedestrian who lost his life there.
Let's hope some changes get made before there's another fatality at that intersection.
...that no changes will be made.
I wonder if driver of car was texting, I see a lot of texting while driving in Eastie.
There will be no changes because the neighborhood refuses all changes. Remove parking to make a right turn lane? NO!, No left turns from Bennington outbound to Saratoga? NO! No turn on Red signs? NO! Eastie loves to complain yet fights any changes.
