Quincy bank robber might have ties to South Boston

Quincy bank robber with South Boston Pop Warner sweatshirt

Quincy Police report this guy robbed the Eastern Bank branch on Franklin Street around 8:50 a.m. As Bill Sheerin notes, that's a South Boston Pop Warner hoodie he's wearing.

I have a t shirt that says St Johns and I can tell you I don't have ties to that island.

But I'm going to go out on a limb here and speculate there's not much call for South Boston Pop Warner hoodies except among people who have some connection to the program (or, granted, who might have picked it up in a local thrift store).

In front of the bank he allegedly robbed last week. And I can tell you, that many a yuppie has bought either a hoodie or a T shirt. These immigrants will buy anything that says Southie on it.

...would be caught dead in that sweatshirt.

Those are wanna be yuppies who are quickly being priced out to Dorchester.

Guy should've tried putting a little more effort into covering his face. Maybe a hat?

The conveniently attached hood???

will not allow you to wear your hood up and sunglasses on in a bank. Perhaps the security guard or detail cop told him to remove them.

This guy is in the running to beat the Charlestown bank robber who wore his high school jacket with his name on the sleeve.

I think they should go easy on this guy because maybe his best friend left town without even saying goodbye. I mean, sure that's what he begged his friend to do, but he didn't really mean it.

Or maybe it was because of the CTE he suffered due to playing football.

Or maybe it was the stress caused by his collapsing parochial blue collar community. Not really anyone's fault but when Aunt Pat sold her triple decker and moved up to Swampscott, that really was the beginning of the end. Mom moved to an old folks home in Quincy. Jimmie lost his lease when his apartment was converted to condos and now he's down in Weymouth. Kelly moved to North Carolina with her husband and this guy was just drifting, picking up shifts here and there at the dry dock, but not making money enough to make things work. So he started drinking too much and then totaled his car driving home from Jimmies one night. Suddenly robbing a bank didn't seem like a good idea so much as the only way out of his dead end life.

Yuppies. What I'm saying is yuppies did this.

...except I think Aunt Pat would have moved to a South Shore town, maybe Scituate, if she wanted to be near the water and couldn't afford Hingham or Cohasset. . If it was Charlestown, Swampscott might be a possibility.

No. Doctors handing out prescription meds like candy did this.

Robbing a bank in the first place is pretty dumb, since you're immediately involving the jurisdiction of the FBI for an average payout of a couple thousand dollars.

Then this genius takes it a step further - no disguise, distinguishable clothing. The images are clear as day. He'll be hauled in quick.

Why other posters on here need to extrapolate and make mean spirited wise cracks and stereotype 'blue collar' people and 'parochial' South Boston I'll leave up to professionals in the mental health field. Most of you certainly wouldn't post the same shit if it involved a politically correct protected class.

I agree that he's likely got a drug problem and that is behind him robbing the bank and also his not making any sort of effort to disguise himself.

I don't think people here are being any harder on him just because he's a white guy. The posts would have looked pretty similar if he were black or Asian or whatever.

I mean ANYONE that knows this dumbass will know who he is. He doesn't even try to conceal his face or elephant ears. Or gloves. Hey, how about trying some fingerprints?
