Six injured in Expressway crash, including trooper

WHDH reports a crash around 2:45 a.m. on I-93 southbound near South Bay sent six people to the hospital, including a state trooper who was stopped by the side of the road dealing with another crash when a car slammed into his patrol car.

Was this a part of the Expressway where the shoulder was converted into a travel lane back in the 80s?
