Why did they shut down the green line? It's bad enough trains get delayed when idiot drivers go on the tracks or hit bridges that trains go over. Now they are shutting it down for car accidents on the street?

And whine on UHub about those evil car drivers. That's why they did it.

Closing down the Green Line don't make no sense. The car is completely on the street.

I'm betting a crash like this happened because the driver tried to avoid hitting a car in front of them and turned the wheel up on the curb, probably hitting something on the tracks, support poles for the electric, or curb which caused the car to flip.

As bad as the MBTA can be in all sorts of other areas, they are usually very good at putting safety first.

Especially when it gives them an excuse to not do something (e.g., stop running the trains). As far as when it requires them to do something,...

It sounds as if the car that flipped over was driving too fast for existing conditions, which is how the majority of automobile accidents occur.

I'm not sure why they shut down the Green Line in that area, but maybe the police figured that if they had to shut down the road, that they should probably shut the Green Line down as well. (shrugs)

im the one that cries about shutting down service at the scene of an accident, because thats definitely a hazard that is very necessary to deal with.

i believe this is unwarranted and will cause delays for no reason

i am a literal moron
