They say in Hyde Park, when one restaurant closes, another one opens

Molly Lanzarotta reports that Salamander's, 1231 River St., was open for breakfast today and that they are serving:
Omelettes, breakfast burritos, lattes, arugula & apple smoothie (excellent!). We'll try lunch next; menu has a Latin twist.
Its opening comes not long after the Briar Rose on Hyde Park Avenue closed. Meanwhile, Hyde Park foodies still await word on the opening of Antonio's Bacaro on Fairmount Avenue.

Not just a mural
Between Salamander and Antonio's down the street, I was giving up. The Salamander coming-soon signs have been there so long, they had become street art.
Antonio's on the other hand has lights on a guy or two working, but no promise signs at all. Sigh.
Some hope ...
One of the Antonio's folks recently tweeted something about staying tuned for news in February ...
Hum, hmm
We and the Fairmount area folk have been tuned for well over a year. I get my news from Al (the not-really-Elvis) barber next door. He's bought into the owner's PR that it will be like a trip to Italy.
Hey Hydeparkers!
Ready, Set, and Go Support Local Businesses.
Glad we finally have a legit breakfast place...open 7 to 7, 7 days/week.
Best of luck.
You'll do well.
