When an off-duty Boston cop beat up a street fighter
By adamg on Tue, 06/07/2016 - 7:02am
MMA fighter Kimbo Slice died yesterday at 42. He first came to fame in a series of online videos of his fights. And the only one of those he ever lost was to a Boston cop, Sean Gannon, in 2004. The fight got Gannon into a bit of trouble back home.

How comforting.

He sounds tough enough
That he doesn't have to beat up fifty year old jaywalkers.
I like how you're
I like how you're memorializing him by remembering the time he got beat up lol
Well ...
The only reason I mention him at all is because of the Boston angle. I admit it - this site is incredibly provincial like that.
Still classless. Have some
Still classless. Have some respect. What if that was you? Would you want to be remembered this way?
If it were me
I wouldn't much care, because I'd be dead.
Do you get upset when people
Do you get upset when people tell funny stories at funerals?
A fighter is remembered by W-L-T record
Nothing classless about it and I'd venture that Adam would have posted similarly if Kimbo had beaten the local boy.
I appreciate how Adam finds the local connection to bigger stories. Do you have an alternative post?
RIP Kimbo.
Nobody is talking about Mr.
Nobody is talking about Mr. Ali's record right now. FOH
That could be because there was a lot more to Ali's life
While Kimbo Slice was, for better or worse, known mainly for fighting (you do know why he called himself Slice, right?). FOH. HTH.
Plenty of people were talking about Ali's local fight in Maine..
where he retained his title against Sonny Liston in 1964. I've seen it mentioned a few times.
Relax people.
