6-story office building on Shawmut Avenue could become 13-story residential building

The Davis Cos. this week filed a letter of intent with the BPDA to add seven stories to the brick building it owns at 112 Shawmut Ave., off Herald Street, and turn it into 155 housing units and a cafe.

The proposal calls for roughly 128 parking spaces.

Next up: Filing of a more detailed project-notification form.

The building formerly housed offices and a daycare.
