Robert Alvarez spotted this on Bolster Street in Jamaica Plain today.

you take the spot but plug in the heater and place it in the pile of snow next to space. this will create a space for the next gal or fella that comes along. the street will be clear of all snow in a few days and everyone will have a parking spot. boom.

How is a spot but plug different from a normal one? And where exactly is my "heater" that I take it in?

Those oil heaters are expensive. I would have totally stolen that piece of litter

has been making the rounds. I picked it up on Centre St. last winter, plugged it in, smelled like smoke. Put it back on the curb. Same exact one.

I thought space savers weren't allowed in Cambridge.

Maybe they're allowed on Bolster Street, wherever that is.

As a four-decade Cambridge resident, and a former cab driver in the city, I'm not aware of any street with a similar name in this city. The closest I can think of is Brewster Street, near Brattle. But Google Street View shows it lined with wooden picket fences, and no chain link in sight.

Both Google Maps and USPS Zip Code Finder agree that there is no Bolster Street in Cambridge. They do find Bolster Streets in Jamaica Plain and Everett.

Never let the geography get in the way of blaming something on those crazy Cambridge kids!

Of course, I let the saver slide, but what's up with the unshoveled sidewalk?

This is all making sense. This is indeed Bolster St, JP. The unshoveled sidewalk is because it's next to the JFK Elementary School (the fence) - no school since Wednesday and thus no shoveling. Definitely not Cambridge.

I thought the photographer said Cambridge, but he told me Bolster Street near the Kennedy School. So original post changed and I need to remind myself to slow down sometimes and double check things.

They're paid overtime to go in at night and on snow days to clear the sidewalks for the public as well as for the kids.
I'd submit to Citizens Connect if I used that sidewalk.
