All the guys are middle aged or older. I remember when there were a mix of young and old, now it's mostly old(er).

Yeah, I guess the two guys in that lineup that I coached soccer with are "middle aged", but they're younger than me (and they run a North End restaurant, which means they've got a lot of energy!).

You want some of the local college bros helping out?

It's really amazing you seem to know someone in, or involved with, every story in every neighborhood in Boston. Congrats.

Boston's a big small town surrounded by the same. Get involved in your community and you get to know people. Volunteer at a food pantry, go to city council meetings, get involved with community groups, staff the library book sale, bike to public events in areas of the city you don't know well, be involved in campaigns, join a church if that's your thing, etc.

Then, if you have kids, get involved in PTOs and bake sales and library activities and sports. It all adds up over 30 years.

I have a rich life and actually spend time in and have worked in many different areas of the metro area. If you can't get how that leads to knowing a lot of places and people, well, your loss.

I clicked the photo and had to laugh that I recognized two of the guys carrying that saint ... and that they aren't old. Great guys, great kids, great family. Had a blast coaching U12 West Medford Div 4 with them.

It would be great if the college- and high-school aged sons of longtime festival participants were now part of the group.
