How St Patrick's Day became Groundhog Day in 2017 in South Boston

"Threats of large scale violence" by "LGTB protestors being bussed in from other states" to Southie is the alleged threat Mass Resistance, "a pro family group," claimed shook St Patrick's Day parade organizers and caused them to relent about a policy in which vets may not display signs of their sexuality, like a rainbow banner.

If you're skeptical that busloads of violent LGTB protesters were being organized, I am too, or that Allied War Veterans Council, the parade organizers, would have relented due to that threat, I am too.

Who are these douche nozzles at Mass Resistance? Notice no one puts their name on the post.

Mass. Resistance says "this is what they're now being forced to have in the parade." That's funny. I thought Allied War Veterans Council voted on whether gay vets would be allowed to march in the parade with their banner.

This NewBostonPost, "the hub of conservative thought" piece tells the story of how parade organizers didn't want gay vets to display rainbows because Catholics believe gay sex is a sin. It also suggests the fight about inclusion of gay vets in the parade is not over.

Attention Mayor Marty Walsh, we asked you to stop the annual embarrassment of South Boston and Boston by Allied War Veterans Council. You told AWVC to put gay vets on the board. Based on insights drawn from the NewBostonPost and MassResistance articles, I'm here to predict that this same conflict will arise as long as AWVC hosts Boston's St Patrick's Day parade. I think most of Boston has had enough and wants it fixed once and for all. That hasn't happened. Here's your new nickname, "half-measure Marty."
