Pedestrian struck and killed on the Expressway

State Police report a man walking on I-93 northbound, just past Columbia Road, died after being hit by a car around 5:15 a.m.

State Police say several motorists called them to report "a man who was reportedly staggering across Route 93 southbound in the area of Exit 16."

The first trooper on scene found him lying on the northbound side of the road, where he'd been hit by a Subaru Forrester driven by a Norton resident.

Two lanes were closed for more than an hour while troopers investigated the crash.
